My suspicion is that people come looking for something in particular and when they do or don't find it, they quickly move on. Let's do be helpful whenever we can, it's certainly quite a task settling into a foreign country and speedy answers can go a long way towards helping someone...and it sure doesn't hurt to make a friend or two along the way. Best regards to all!

KISHOR KHOT

Hi Youngman,

Greetings to you.

I am a new member and its great to see that you are keen to make friends and you appear to be a wonderful soul willing to share your thoughts and ideas on this site. I am glad to know that you are pursuing studies in the Information Technology arena and that you have been born and bought up in Nairobi.

By the way, my name is Kishor - you can call me Uncle Kishor, if you wish. I have 20 years experience in Finance & Accounts. I have worked as Finance Executive/Finance Manager in blue chip companies in India as well as in the Gulf region. I have a passion for Stock Markets and all things relating to Finance. And yes, I love going to the Gym every alternative day and walking 1-2 miles everyday.

I am fascinated by Uganda and Kenya. In fact, I was short listed by a Jinja [ Uganda ] based company for the position of Finance Controller but have not head from them since quite some time.

I would now like to explore job opportunities in Nairobi - please see how best you could help me in my job search - in reciprocation, I will be very grateful for providing me valuable guidance in searching a great job and moving over to Nairobi.

Guess, you could start off by :

- sending me the name/company website address of organizations which employ lots of Indians

+ finding out suitable job vacancies from your network, newspapers etc.

Whatever little help or guidance you can provide in above matter shall be much appreciated.

Wish you well and may you make lots of friends and may all your dreams come true.

Kishor it's great to hear that you're considering opportunities in Kenya but if this is limited to organisations predominantly employing Indians, maybe Kenya is not the place for you.  Nairobi is vibrant and multi-cultural and as you may have noticed from the various postings, nationalities from across the world live and work here and to limit yourself to working with just Indians is to deny yourself the experience of that rich mix of cultures.

Well, I guess it all depends on what you want and how you want it. I believe the blog is for sharing ideas and interest, once yours match with someone else definitely you gus have to tag along, for sure we all need each other.... l-e-g-itmately!
