Hi folks.
Does anyone know where I can find a paint shop in BP? I've not discovered anywhere in V district (predictably).

I'm after paint remover and a scraper to tidy up some previously over-painted window frames.

Hello!

You can find it at OBI, http://obi.hu/en/index.html.
They have a lot of warehouses around Budapest. I have been to the one on Fograsi ut, took a taxi 10 min from the city center.

Many thanks for the reference, Frida. At last an answer. I knew I'd have to travel, but looks like the most convenient OBI branch is up Vaci ut in Újpest XIII district and there's a metro station nearby.

for future reference only.. I know of two paint shops downtown. One is by the Hyunadi Ter market (2 shops before Culinaris coming from Andrassy) and it is very well equipped. Another one is at Izabella u. 67, also 6th district.

There are a bunch of hardware store chains with insane selections and lots of locations between all of them:
Praktiker, Obi, BauHaus, and BricoStore.

You are more likely to get attention and help in specialist little shops though.

How did I miss this question originally though???

I find this a difficult forum to navigate as there is no index page and the latest posts often don't appear in the overview page.
