Darn a yellow no parking violation ticket!

Post new topic

agent47

Hello guys,

With great pride I would like to inform you that I got my first traffic violation ticket in 5 years. Fortunately it was for the violation of a parking zone (which by the way was not marked No Parking).

I tried searching the forum but whatever I was able to find, was related to SAHER.

Anyway the problem now is that I do not know how to pay back for the violation. It has been 2 weeks now and I have been checking the Ministry of Interior website with my iqama # daily but it shows nothing. And it has a 30 day limit followed by the maximum charge.

Can anyone tell me if I am right in assuming the fine will appear on the Ministry of Interior website?

Am I being to eager when I should sit back and relax as its not showing any fine on my id:p?

Is there any other way to pay or check other than moi?

Thanks in advance.

slyshooter

First of all I would like to congratulate you on your achievement & welcome to the traffic violators club.

Normally these hand written tickets don't get updated soon, I once got a ticket for speeding between Jeddah & Makkah, and got a message for it after more than 2 months. I wouldn't worry too much about it, if your mobile no. is not registered with them, than would advice you to keep a regular check on the website, otherwise wait for the message

Thanks sly! Your greeting make me pride myself.

I'm not sure if my mobile number is registered with the police. I guess I should get it done. But for now i would continue checking the website.

Can I ask you since you got your ticket updated in the system after two months, did they charge you with a normal fine amount or the next bracket? (Because I want to be sure when does the 30 day period start from)

agent47

No clue! Still waiting for the system to show that.

:o The amount must be written on the ticke agent47.

Welcome to the club mate. I'm on my 2nd hattrick ;)

Keep checking MOI website, it will appear one day. If nothing happens for say 3 months, then forget about it. The person doing data entry awarded it to some poor fellow iqama. :D

Yes, Once it happened. An egyptian lady was asked to pay her traffic violation fine on Airport (on immigration counter) before she could fly. The poor lady had to pay just to save from the hassles.... :( But look at the case....

RedGoblin

@TLL: you think that is weird, a friend's little sister, (5 or six years old) had a traffic violation against her!! Saudis I tell you......... :D

She might have parked her poo in the No Poo-ing zone

RedGoblin

Yeah We keep scaring her to wear a seat belt because of that. :P

ghanshyampdave

But right now, I bet, Agent 47 is more scared than her. :P

agent47

@TLL Thanks and No the amount is not written on the ticket. I've made sure of that. It's just been over a month now. But I keep checking every other day.

Thanks for helpful info. I've got my 1st ticket too because of wrong parking and yes there was no such sign board. Violation is still not updated on MOI yet after 3 days. Can you please confirm if you had to pay additional fine for late payment (after 30 days)? Did you receive SMS when it was updated in the system? Should I wait and see?
