The annual Animal Fest will be held at the wide section of road directly in front of the Selmun Palace on the edge of Mellieha town, 10am, to 4.30pm on Sunday, 27th May.

All pets are welcome. There will be Guide dogs; animal displays; falconry; showings of cats, dogs, rabbits, birds etc.

Childrens' pets and animal blessings will take place at 12.15.

There will also be a scouts parade and a variety show by Artemocion though I'm afraid it's not been possible to find out the times of these events.

There is usually a mobile coffee/burger van and various other stalls. Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary will have a couple of tables.

It is usually a very good, well attended event. Parking will probably be controlled and allowed only up as far as Joe's Bar on the corner, so you park where you can along the road and walk up to the Palace.

There are some great walks in several directions for those bringing their dogs - down the winding road/path/track between the many allotments which has some lovely views of the sea and bays, or off to the side leading to above Mistra Bay.

Hello ternet.

Can you please post an advert in the Malta classifieds - Activities section.

Thank you,
Aurélie

I initially looked at the top and the side for an "Events" or "What's On" section but there was nothing suitable so I put it on the main forum page.

The event isn't anything that we benefit from personally, but as we donate our time on some mornings at the Noah's Ark charity kiosk (Noah's Ark is a dog sanctuary at Paradise Bay run entirely on donations - no government fnding at all) near the police station in Mellieha, we heard of this Fest and I thought that as there is very little publicity for most events in Malta unless it is via a leaflet in Maltese through the door, I thought it was a good idea to put it on the forum.

I think that on the whole, people tend to think of the "Classifieds" as items for sale or to buy and only when I looked at it after your post, Aurélie, did I see that it is broken down into different lists.

Looking at the "Events" there has been none posted since almost a year ago, so it doesn't seem somewhere that is regularly viewed, so it may be a good idea if a separate heading was introduced in full view of the forum page?  It would help spread the word about what is going on.

The post has interested a good many viewers already so has served its purpose if you would prefer to delete it.

Hi,

I agree that it is ok to post this event info on the main forum as it is mostly for a very good cause and it will be more noticable for interested members.

I wish you many visitors and charitable donations for the dogs.

Cheers
Ricky

Thank you, Ricky.

Agreed, Ricky. I, for one, only look on the main forum unless I'm looking for something special.
