Hi, i am a filipina and i have an egyptian boyfriend meet him thru net. we've known each other for almost 5 years now but have not meet in person yet. I am just curious of how life would be marrying an egyptian and living in egypt.I am a christian and he is too.  I know its very far different from the life here in philippines.  I would really appreciate if u can help me and give me some insights. We're settling for good but i am quite afraid of how life would be in there.  I haven't traveled overseas yet. Thanks.

Hello Weng,
merry welcome aboard.

Mh. Not sure how Life would be over here for you.
I know that many girls from the Philippines in Kuwait had a hard time over there.
Egypt seems to be a bit more open than Kuwait. But I'm only here since Thursday.

Living with his family might become a challenge.
I would for sure first come for a visit only if you can.

Even if you know him from online for 5 years, you'll never know what you get yourself into.
So, please be cautious!

Are there no networks where you can find some Filipino girls already living over here?

weng

Thanks Nicole...  I have a friend who works there in Cairo and telling me that there are Filipino's who got married there, some have a good life and some were not successful.  My boyfriend told me that he is worried of me, what if i don't like the life over there and i will suffer from so many differences?  We love each other but so really hard to decide. Financially, i am not capable of traveling overseas to be a tourist.

I think that if you guys really love each other you can make it.

Do you know what it looks like over here? You could check google maps for example.

Did you read some blogs from Egypt?

Not that those are a guideline, but they can at least might give you a few ideas too.

weng

Yes, I've done research and read some blogs from Egypt to gather information that might help me. Also i've told him that as long as we both help each other we can survive.  I like the place especially the tourist areas but of course the real life living there would be different.
