Hi,

U most welcome in Muscat.
Here u can have a cheap Net Connection by using Omantel landline service.
RO 12  per month with unlimited usage.

OR

u should go for wireless connections like:
1-Hayak    1GB   per day    RO 1
2-Hayak    1GB   per Week   RO 3
3-Hayak    1GB   per month  RO 5

And Nawras has also nearly same kind of packages.

Regards,
rAzA.

Can any one comment on the speed of the Internet available?

1) Which network offers the highest and best speed in Mbps ?(Tariff details will be much helpful)
2) Which type of network is consistent and preferable wired or wireless?
3) Is it easy to get Internet connection in Muscat (qurum area)?
4) How good is the coverage if I choice Wireless connectivity in Muscat (Qurum area)?

To have an internet at home, it's better first to ask if the fiber optics cable is available nearby to use for wireless network due to it's faster speed and rarely disconnected. Because honestly, the wireless connection or broadband network of 3G or 4G are not satisfied and not reliable from both Omantel and Ooredoo. The speed in most places is slow and it disconnected a lot. Just ask for the fiber first and try to choose the best quality internet.

You can think of getting an internet connection from Omantel. They offer many attractive packages with various discounts such as Home Broadband, Home Broadband Ultra Fast and Home Broadband Wireless. These plans come with different speed starting from 16 Mbps to 200 Mbps. If you are looking for the internet which is suitable for both purpose such as entertainment and work, then Omantel is the right option to choose from.
