Don't miss: "Tax center 100 years" free exhibition

I was in the Tax Center (Nguyen Hue Street) today and saw their (really modest) free exhibition about the center's 100 years.

Certainly bring back memory from the good old days when SGN was known as the Pearl of the Far East. Things that I completely forgot about SGN and the Tax Center, as well as things I did not know.

Highly recommended, if you are already in downtown and interested in some of this city's unique and glorious history.

It runs until tomorrow so hurry if you don't want to miss it.

Anatta,

What tax?  Certain people here don't pay tax.  What are you talking about, Amigo?

Senior,

I was just joking with you.  I hope that Vietnam will have some serious folks attending because, the current tax system that they have is a joke.

Next time, can you announce such an event just a few minutes prior...  Just to be sure that none of us can catch it.  :dumbom:

What the heck are you talking about? This is a well known shopping center whose name is Tax, just like your name is Howie! It has nothing to do with any tax, VAT or income tax. Got too much drink on a Saturday night, ehhh?

BTW, you changed your path? Now you say you have been in VN and want to be in VN? Dude, what are you SMOKING?

An impressive 13 000-picture collection of historical Vietnam.

Anatta,

You foolish man!  Again, I will just pretend that I did not see what you posted above and won't say anything about you and your Tax Center...  What kind of a name is that?  Never mind!!!

Anatta

Dude
Where have you been in the last, say, 52 years ?? That was in 1960 the name Tax was first used. What is next, dude: where is Ben Thanh market?!

Anatta,

52 years???  Again, you foolish man!  I wasn't even born then.

Alright Wikiman, tell me when you are going to change that avatar of yours, huh?  Will you need my help?

Talking about name, I was spending last week some 10 minutes to explain to a Vietnamese girl that the name "Tan Son Nhat" comes from the local suburb/village which name was "Tan Son Nhat" (New Mountain the First) as opposed to "Tan Son Nhi" (New Mountain the Second) suburb which was quite close by.

In her mind, the name has always gone together so she thought it was the name of some famous person, as common practice, so she could not accept/make sense of what I explained to her.
