Hello,

do somebody know where to buy high-class Pianos in Ho Chi Minh City? Like Steinway & Sons, Schimmel, Blüthner, Sauter etc.?

I am also looking for passionate pianists who loves to enjoy playing on a high-class piano.

Regards

Helen

First I thought they don't have Steinways here, but surprise surprise

A brand new grand D274 can be yours for a cheap price of 200 000 USD.

I guess if I can see a Maybach parked in Nguyen Hue (just now), I should not be surprised to find good old Steinway here as well.
Good luck.

Sorry, piano is not my cup of tea. I play violin :-).

I assume, for that price is a whole orchestra inclusive?

I saw a baby grand on the side of the street (in Q7) a few days ago.

Several VNese were examining it, obviously for material recovery. Seems the owner had been transplanted back to his homeland and couldn't sell it in time.

Great wooden casing in good condition.

Wonder what a cast metal string frame fetches on the scrap metal market?

Sorry, not the whole orchestra, but you get Howie to do a strip tease while singing "Happy birthday, Mr President" on top of the piano thrown in for free. Not sure it is a bonus or a punishment though.

Thanks for the reply. It is not for me, it's for a customer :-)

Anatta

Sure, and the violin I am playing is a Strad!!

What kind of customers do you have, girl? “Honey, I want to order two of your cakes, and BTW, can you add a Steinway to go with them as well? Make it a grand(e)” :D

Anatta

BTW, the next performance by the HBSO has Shostakovich piano concerto nr 2 performed by HINRICH ALPERS and conducted by CHRISTIAN SCHUMANN.
Time: 20:00  09/09/2012. Tickets available now (if not already sold out).

Well

If extasia's customer ( ;) )ever sees the need to throw the Steinway on the street, let me know. I'll be glad to take over it second-handed, grand or upright.

I have a Roland Digital Grand for sale ... but it's in FL! http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/msg/3196429358.html

On a serious note, couldn't you import one? The price of a container shipment is minimal compared to the price of the piano ... maybe fine an excellent used one in the US - lots of people here selling their 'big ticket' items as they lose their homes ;)

extasia

I am also astonished about the price. My customer is a high-class manufacturer and he is looking for some potential customers in Vietnam.

The price does not surprise me. The Steinways have never been cheap. Its price actually increases every year more than inflation.

The D 274 was sold new for 160 000 USD in Europe in 2010, ((See link here in German) so 200 000 USD in Vietnam is actually a cheap price considering the transport cost and import tax.

What surprises me is that there are rich people sophisticated enough to appreciate them here. Professional pianists do dream about them, but they are dirt poor here.
