After imagining how Malta looked for the past few months, it was nice to see it, and was not disappointed. It is lovely!!!! Got a little short stay flat just behind the strand in Sliema for the 2 weeks. We like the area, doesn't seem as busy as l pictured, probably because it's the tail end of summer, so we are thankful its not so loud. We are going to visit Valleta this afternoon and the bus stop is practically at our doorstep, so we can take the 12 or 13 bus. My question is the bus number that will get us to Mellieha? We want to go to the beach tomorrow or Thursday and check out the area as a place to live. We are hoping to make it to the get together tomorrow evening as we have quite a few questions on life here... Paging Ricky!!!! ;) . Any good local restaurants in the Sliema area that anyone can recommend? Not a huge fan of all the touristy restaurants on the strand, even though we have had good food at the 2 places we went to..

Hi KemKem,

welcome to Malta.

Just come along tomorrow evening at 7 pm. Check out the location through the 'meeting up' thread. Send me a PM and I will send you my phone number in case you get lost.

You can walk there from the Strand in about 20 mins. If you walk down Dingli Street until Tower Road you are very close ! Cross Tower Road and turn right , then past the Tower and green creperie kiosk and down the steps and you can see us near the water to your right.

Cheers
Ricky

Thank you Toon.. I can't wait to visit there.. Will send PM as l am terrible with directions and will get lost for sure!

Toon

not a problem kemkem - we have loved here for four years now.

the 222 will take you all the way down to the beach and they can put you off at the seabank hotel or the mellieha bay hotel or any point in between the two - so if you miss the seabank just ring de bell and get off at next stop....and you wil be central for the whole beach
