Hi there,

This morning I saw a friend (he is a foreigner) taking "Xe om" (a popular transport service in Vietnam)on the way from my home to office. He seemed to feel very hard to do that. I thought I should help him but a moment later he finally got a "xe om". I was glad to see that.

So I come to this forum with the hope I can understand more about the life of an expat in Vietnam. I also want to have a foreign friend who once loves my small country. I am proud of that.

I also want to listen to what you tell about your country which I can only imagine but never touch it.

Just a little from my feeling. Leave me some lines if possible. Thank you with love!

Nam,

Jaitch

Hardly a 'small' country with around 90-million people and diaspora that covers much of the world.

Greece is a 'small' country, and look what an influence it has had in many spheres of life - culture, language, geographical, geopolitical and cuisine!

Jaitch: In Vietnam, we often call our beloved people a small love. For example, however old you are, you'r always a small child of your parents :D Does it make sense?

I don't think anyone, except a blind person, would call me 'small'!

@ Jaitch & nhung.scorpio90: I love the ways how both of you  explain the word "small". One states small in size but not small in influence of culture, population, etc.. So I can understand "big". And the other explains small means "beloved". That's very cool! Thank you!
