Bangalore or Chennai?

Bangalore is a much cosier city than Chennai with lots of restos, moderate weather, plentiful of nightclubs.

Not much of sports culture there in Bangalore though!

don't even think twice..go for Bangalore...I have moved to Chennai from Mumbai around a year ago and this city is driving me nuts!!

as far as india is considered, it is difficult for a foreigner to live for longer time. there are lot of reasons for that..
1. Traffic chaos
2. climate ( erratic in different parts of india)
3. gross indispline in individual behavior
4. life style - Not suitable for foreigner
5. language.

though, we indians adjust to live here - because we like it and it is our mother land..it is difficult to settle in a foreign country, unless you possess lot of other credentials.  rest all depends on indivuality ( nature and taste)...

but india has got rich culturual diversity and great spirtuality... i request foreigners to look into that also.. visit places.. and enjoy time...

I sympathize with you totally. The language barrier is a big hurdle even for non-Tamil speaking Indians.


Bangalore takes the cake in this case!

as if bombay is neat, clean and free!.. you are not sure about your return to home... if you are in mumbai.. that is the case .. chennai is much better... being an indian.. it is better.. but foreigner , it depends on the choice as i mentioned earlier

Well... a part from weather and chaos everything is OK for me here. I like discovering new cultures and India always has something which surprises you, so no problems so far. The only thing is that in Cochin (although is very charming and kerala is so beautiful) there are no many things to do in the everyday life...

So... I think Bangalore will be the place in our quest for new experiences!

I've never been to Bangalore, but would move there before returning to Chennai. A previous poster said that for Indians Chennai is better, but I've NEVER heard an Indian say that, even Indians that are from Chennai. Best of luck in Bangalore.

Bangalore

I'm from hyderabad...But I heard from most people that Banglore got a good climate..so i suggest Banglore got a good climate...Chennai has lot of humidity though there are lot of malls,places of history to visit.

Bombay

Anyone at first sight would prefer Bangalore because of the weather, the multicultural population and certain sense of civility among the Bangaloreans. Chennai....no comments ..not worth it.

Bangalore, its a better place to live. Bangalore's climate are cool, Amazing Night life, its good in Cost of Living, Bus Fare etc, Chennai has no night life.

Chennai is far better than bangalore in means of Safety...Only the climate is hot...And cost of living is better..

Bangalore climate is also not so good now a days..

Also pondicheery is near by our place....

A coastal french colony with lots of european stuff...

I stayed in Chennai long time ago and currently living in Bangalore is definitely the best choice.
Weather is awesome, people are more welcoming, lot of places to visit over weekends. Mix of Indian and western culture..

When it comes to mix of cultures, Bangalore sure does have lots of it, but chennai is more traditional, not as cosmopolitan as bangalore is. and as some of the others have suggested, guess you will have to explore, bottom line chennai is more culturally active, expecially during the festivities, bangalore too but every ones' too busy to engage...so experience and choose..hope it helps..
