4 week vacation, help please!

Post new topic

Hello everyone

I have posted several topics in relation to retiring in Thailand, which I hope to do within the next 2 years. However I need your help on something that has only just been apparent.

I hopefully am visiting Thailand (Buri Ram/Chon Buri early December for approx 2 weeks, as well as 2 weeks in Siem Reap) as it has been made available for me to leave work at visit.

The panic is....I want to travel with the bare minimum, no cases, just a backpack if possible. Usually I plan for weeks/months even years, however can't do that as only found out this week I can have December off to travel.....yippee!!!!

Could anyone please list what indeed to bring,...the only things I have on my list are:
Passport incl photocopy
Plane tickets
1 spare set of clothes
Spare glasses
Toiletries
iPhone & charger
iPad & charger
Travel insurance
Rucksack
Camera
Thailand Tourist Visa

Also a few questions:

1. Is the above list missing anything?
2. Any more type of clothes than normal
3. Visa...I am travelling straight in/out of Bangkok to Siem Reap, will I require a Thai Visa, or can I just obtain a Cambodian Visa on my arrival in Siem Reap airport, although I will be visiting a friend in Chon Buri in Thailand whilst in Siem Reap before I travel back to Bangkok for a week then UK
4. What vaccinations do I need
5. Any pills I need to bring

Many thanks for any help you are able to give as this is very last minute.....

I can answer only some questions;

1. Is the above list missing anything?

- Fine.
2. Any more type of clothes than normal

- Normal,e specially, t-shirt, shorts, jeans or beach clothes

- I have  heard that if you get Thai Visa, you will pass to travel in Cambodia without any visa requirement, just stamp from the board. Please, check it again.

4. What vaccinations do I need

- Relax and enjoy your vacations

5. Any pills I need to bring'
- Fever and stomach ache pills

Thank you for your post

I have a slight change of plan now as not visiting Cambodia, and now visiting Thailand for 4 weeks, also not taking iPhone just buying a 'pay as you go' mobile in Bangkok on arrival but taking my iPad for emails etc

Thank you for any other advice
