A question about job as a nanny/babysitter

Post new topic

alesha

My name is Shine, I'm filipino, 28 y.o. Me and my husband (he's programmer from Russia) are considering
the possibility of moving to Cyprus next year. Being a certified caregiver and able to speak English, I'd
like to know, how hard/easy it gonna be for me to find a position of babysitter or nanny there in Cyprus?
What cities would you probably suggest as better places for seeking a job of that kind (as we havn't choosen
any place to settle there, yet). Would it be necessary for me to study Greek in order to find a job, or is English
enough for beginning? Thank you!

English should be enough at the beginning. The wages as a nanny are low and they expect you to live in usually.  Private babysitting pays more.

This is the wrong time to come to Cyprus. Work permit is very difficult to get and most of the nannies have been sent back to The Phillapines because of the financial crisis. I dont think youn will have any luck
