Hi,

My name's James & I'm 26; I've just moved to K.L from sunny Leeds in England.

I'm really easy going - I like going out having a few drinks at the end of a week so it would be great to meet some people to socialise with.

My main interests revolve around sport (pretty much all sport) and if anybody actually knows of any rugby teams around K.L, i'd be interested in getting involved. Don't worry, I can also talk about other topics!

Hope to hear from people soon.

Hi there James and welcome

Sorry cant help on the rugby front although my husband was a rugby player and is still an avid fan, he actually went and watched a 10 aside tournament at Stadium PJ a couple of weekends ago and we try to get down to Finnegans Sri Hartamas to watch some of the bigger international matches when we feel like having a few drinks otherwise its surprising how many games are actually televised on astro.  He also tries to go out for a couple of hours every Sunday for a mountain bike ride with a couple of mates if that interests you. Although with Xmas looming most expats head home so probably won't be any riding till the new year now.

Good luck on the rugby hunt!

Welcome James !

Pretty sure it's never sunny in any part of England ;) I've just moved from the Big Smoke recently so be cool to hang out or something. Don't worry I won't get into a debate about the South being better than the North (because it's a known fact already!).

Hi there. I am a Brit too, from Bath and moving out to KL at the end of January. It would be good to get to know some British folk. I know no-one in KL as of now. I would be up for meeting for a drink or something once I arrive.

Hi James and Welcome to KL

As per my knowledge I didn’t find rugby event over here since last one year .But  being a sports person you will get lots of other sports like cricket ,tennis etc. not only that even more adventurous event you will get it.

Hi Emma and Welcome to KL

KL is a place of nice people so nothing to worry and you will get  lots of British folk. Here you will get friendly people so where ever you go, you will find company.

Hi,

I moved here from rainy Wales a few months ago. I've thought of playing a bit of rugby (I am Welsh after all) but haven't gotten round to it yet. I do have a friend who plays at the Royal Selangor in Bukit Kiara, he says there's a good crowd there and they train weekly and welcome new people.

Having only been here for a few months so all my new friends at the moment are co-workers - that needs to change so would be up for something (James, Emma and whoever else!)

Thanks for your messages guys - been here just over 1 month now so slowly getting my bearings and settling in! CmyroKL - I'd be very interested in Royal Selangor! Let me know when you the training is? Emma - sounds like you'll be moving out shortly; hopefully we can arrange something with a few people on this forum to go out for a few drinks?

Anybody else interested?

So I have finally arrived in kl and am ready for a drink..preferably a cold one after the shock of coming from the snow into the sun!

You guys free maybe Friday evening..go get a drink somewhere though as you all seem to have a head start on me on knowing where to go I would appreciate suggestions. It would be nice to get to know some Brits within this crazy Asian city.
