Visa procedure for new entrants into KSA (URGENT !!!)

Post new topic

All,

I have heard that a company normally invites an expat professional first on a visit visa and that then gets converted into a work permit?

I have been offered a marketing position, however the company doesnt have any marketing visas. They only have engineering visas at the moment - The company is saying that they will make alternative arrangements and I shouldnt worry about the visa procedure and will convert it later accordingly.

Can someone please guide me out here? I have really no clue how to go about this and am completely confused. I am not an engineer by qualification, so what could be the possible options.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions. If there is a thread already under this topic, please guide me to the same.

Thanks,
Ash

Hi! Farooq, basis what I understand :-

Quite a few expats here are on a work visa, which essentially may not correspond to ur immediate degree. Main points to consider are :-
1. Your visa should not be a labour class one , else u mayn't be eligible to bring ur family to KSA.

2. Typically, people get a 90 day work visa stamped on their passport when they come from their home country. This once u r here becomes basis to get ur work eligible Iqama.

3. Some companies get people on 30 day Business visa which they can extend 2 more times. Meanwhile they try to get u ur Iqama.

These r scenario's I know. If there are other scenario's hope the rest of blog ppl will pitch in.

Thank you so much Kymadoce. I am still unclear about the difference between Engineering & Non - Engineering visas. Will that cause any problem for me in the future?
