Moving soon but how do I prove an income as an artist?

Sorry if this sort of question has been asked many times before :) I'm a Brit in Africa and moving to Gozo hopefully in next month to 6 weeks. We aren't going to make the €23,000 odd amount to come in with - probably nearer 9 or 10. So I need to obviously prove I can support myself and my family. All very well if one is employed. I am an artist and I already have commissions waiting from people in Malta and the UK, so would written orders help? My mother and step-father already live on Gozo and I read somewhere that also gives me a right to apply for residency.
Can anyone give me some advice on what's the best legal way or at least let me know if this is going to be a hopeless try to leave Africa without a huge amount of money in my back pocket!
Many thanks :)

depends a lot on what passport you hold and as for the financial things - there is a weekly income figure quoted (i think its quite low between 85-95 euros per week and is akin to the level of state benefit paid here to local nationals) not just a capital holding figure....

GnG will no doubt give you the actuals

Thanks. Yes I saw that - easy enough to get but just wondering how I prove to them I can get it. I have a Brit passport still. :)

"My mother and step-father already live on Gozo and I read somewhere that also gives me a right to apply for residency." your right to take up residency is because you are an EU citizen

" there is a weekly income figure quoted (i think its quite low between 85-95 euros per week and is akin to the level of state benefit paid here to local nationals) not just a capital holding figure...." - yep, that about right - you have show sufficient income OR capital.

" I am an artist and I already have commissions waiting from people in Malta and the UK, so would written orders help?" it will help, but whether sufficient is another matter. Its a grey area, and I suggest contacting the dept for expatriate affairs and see what they say.

Bear in mind you can come for 3 months as a tourist

AFAIK the figures are still "capital of at least €14,000 or a weekly income of €84.95 or, in the case of a married couple, a capital of €23,300 or a weekly income of €93.10."
