hi all

so i signed my contract with a compagnie based in dubai aeroport free zone ,they took in charge my changing of situation since i entered dubai as a tourist.
so in order to have my residente visa they told me that i should exit the country and return with my new visa and they are ready to pay my ticket to kish island in iran since it is the nearest place.
they told me that it will not take long and i ll go and be back the same day
so i was wondering if really things will be done this way ,and what if my new visa dont came on time and i ll be stuck in the aeroport?

and i don t have any idea about this island so do you think it is safe for me to go there?

what should i do ??

First.  Make sure your visa has been received by the company and take a photocopy with you before you leave.

I havent been to kish island myself but people who have say its quite nice.  Some even spend a few days there.

Im sure youll be safe.  I am certain that the plane taking you there will be full of people doing the same thing as you.  Many will also be sole females.

Dont worry.  Its really a very straightforward thing.  When you come back, youll wonder why you were worried in the first place.

good luck.

This is intriguing.  The 'Visa change run' to Kish has been more or less stopped, and Dubai government does not encourage this at all, particularly after the nasty air accident that happened some years ago with a Kish flight.  There are procedures available to change the visa status without the employee having to leave the country.  Even if they insist you have to exit the country, then ask to go to Bahrain or Muscat (or even Musandam which can be reached by road).  These are safer destinations for you.  Do not let the employer play with your situation, as this could turn out to be a major problem or you.

Hello,

You can go to Hatta border (oman). The authorities are used to do "in and out" procedures for visa renewing. I did it 4 times for me and my family before having our visas. From Dubai is 3 hours round trip + 1 hour for the  papers.
