Hi Thao,

I just moved to Saigon and am very interested in learning Vietnamese.  I just enrolled in the classes at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

If you're interested, maybe we can help each other out.  I could teach you English and you could teach me Vietnamese.

My email is mark.eggering@gmail.com.  Let me know what you think.

Best,

Mark

Yep I think this is a very good idea, Thao!

Practicing with different people will help us memorize the words and follow the accents better...

Hi Ngominhdat,

Hope you are doing well.  Thanks for your post and here is my contact info as well.

I don't have a formal class set up, as I just arrived and I was suggesting to Thoa that we could help each other learn our respective languages.  That said, I feel learning in a conversational setting is the best way to improve.  I use to teach for a couple years, have my University Degree, and my Mom and Sister both received their University Degrees in English, so I am well versed in the technical side also.

Plus, I have all sorts of fun ways to learn, so it stays interesting and doesn't become so mundane.

I was just thinking meeting up when it was convenient and taking it from there.  I'm new to the city so I think it would be neat to meet different people as well.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Ngominhdat,

You're welcome.  When you meet me you'll realize that I'm super laid back, patient, and just easy to want to try and speak English with.  We'll make it fun and relaxing, while at the same time a very useful learning experience.  My bet is that your confidence will grow on a subconscious level.

Yes, feel free to call or write anytime.  I may have one or two people meeting up tomorrow night, you are more then welcome to join.

Best,

Mark
