Problem with my boyfriend to go abroad

Post new topic

Hello everyone,

It is the first time I ever write on a forum so it proves how important this post is to me. I am going to go abroad for an academic year from September. As I am in a relationship since 2 years I obviously want to go with my boyfriend. We chose to go to Turkey months ago. However he told me he did not want to go there anymore since a few days. I am very upset because I really want to learn Turkish to finally be able to speak to his family (he is half Turkish half British).
This relationship is one of the most important thing in my life (with my family) and I clearly cannot imagine myself without him. However, going to Turkey was a big challenge for me and I got prepared since months for it so I do not want to give up just because he wants to experience something different from a country he knows already. Therefore, I am very motivated and looking forward to go to Turkey.

Do you think we should both go to the country where we want to go? Or that we should find an agreement?

Kind Regards

i had the same problem when i left Australia for Turkey,

I guess talk to him and try and get him to come,

Turkey will be around for a very longtime but will he?

Weigh up your pros and cons and see where that takes you :)

moving to Turkey to learn the language was one of the best things i have ever done in my life, i am 21.

It was hard at first, but worth it i think.

Good luck with what you decide to do :)

i suggest "listen your partner" and do not break this love relation for nothing.

turn to yourself and ask: can i go myself for my future plans while leaving my boy friend behind .. if your answer is yes, your love is bla bla, so go whereever you want ;)
