Have there been any changes re overstay?

French friend of mine seems to think so. He said on the French Embassy website it says Visas will be needed and are valid for 3 months?

I know there have been rumours of changes, but personally I think he got his facts mixed up.
I am not aware of any changes re Tourist card. overstay. etc...and the overstay amounts are still listed on "Migracion Website.

There are overstay charges but they are minimal.  On DR1 there was just a discussion about fees and someone posted the fee chart. I can't remember the actual website they were on.  If you search overstay fees on DR1 you might be able to find it.

The visa (visa de residencia)  is needed only when you want to initiate a resident process . For touristic visit ,nothing has changed
