I am considering moving to Morocco for work and wonder how dogs are treated. I lived in Egypt for two years and it was mostly ex-pats who had them. I just want to make sure my dog isn't abused on the streets  when I walk or run with her....

Any advice??

Hi
Dogs in the house were considered bad luck in Morocco.
However a new generation are accepting dogs as our " best friends" We rescued a dog in Essaouira, and support HSAM who visit regularly to help the street animals of Morocco. I believe that its the older generation, the same as any country, who challenge change?
warmest regards.

I have a dog, and for the most part, people are kind to him.  Be wary of children, the young, ragamuffin sort.  The French have some smaller pet dogs, and the Moroccans keep larger guard dogs.  You can easily get dog food and supplies.  Dr. Adellatif cvghandi.com is a lovely, English-speaking vet.  Please feel free to private message me if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your message.
Perhaps Dr. Adellatif would be interested in our charity work to help save the street animals on Morocco? We have started a regular programme in Essaouira and Ghazoua, helping the animals, and educating the owners in very rural areas.
warmest regards,
Martyn
