From Ireland to Sydney along the East Coast to Cairns

Hye you Guys I'm moving to Aus on the first of May, I just need to make some friends, I hope to travel up the east coast on the aus experience bus from Sydney to Cairns, so looking forward to that. And then I hope to get a job in Cairns before going wwoofing. I'd really appreciate any advice on how to get a job in Cairns in around june? and on how to make new friends over there or just traveling about in general!
