Depends on the bank, usually you need passport with at least 4-6 months left on the visa, also contract for rental with address.

It is easy at ABA bank and good choice, young dynamic people. You need passport with Visa , thats all

Yes... i agree.

My Pension is paid each month directly to my Bank Account in Thailand where I live.

If I move to Cambodia am I correct in thinking that most Cambodian Banks will accept this direct Bank transfer and which Bank is the best expat one to use?, ABA?

dosolto

The fact is that most of banks will ask you for the following :
1-Passport
2-Visa of 1 year
3-A certificate from the commune your are living in
4-A work certificate or employment letter or any paper justifying a professional activity.

As far that I am aware of, only ABA will ask you 1 and 2.... nothing more.

Thanks. I expect to have a 1 year Visa hence that should be OK.

dosolto

I wouldn't say that ABA is the best... but in some cases, uou don't really have the choice.

Teddylim

One can also open a account with a passport and cambodia issued driving license

Is it possible to open account say in ABA if you have been issued a tourist visa so that you dont wonder around with bunch of cash on you?

rarky

@bnarzulloev...you cannot open a bank account in Cambodia with a Tourist visa.

Minimum requirement's for most banks are;

1- Valid passport containing Ordinary visa with at least 6 months validity.
2 - Lease/rental agreement/property title
3 - Work permit/certificate of employment from employer in Cambodia or Business license
4 - Minimum deposit amount (each bank varies)

I have managed to open accounts with Canadia and Acleda with just 1 and 2, although I know of others who have been refused without no.3.

ABA will ask him just n.1
But not sure for the Tourism visa

bnarzulloev

Its kind of strange...why would you not have a client store his money at your bank whether he stays here for 1/2/3/6 months?

Teddylim

Maybe for tax purposes from the banking account? The banks deduct tax from the account that I have according to legislation requirement .

ABA Bank opened an account for me with passport and one month tourist visa
