Dear All friends,
Greetings. I am Gaurav from India. I am 33. I have done my post Graduation in Commorce. I am running own travel consultancy firm in India. I am doing for Passport, Visa, hotel booking, Air-ticket and tour packages for my company.
One of my good frined, who is already doing for Canada visas , he told me that I have to apply for Canada Work Permit through LMO. He told me that we have to hire consultant in Canada who will process for LMO. it will take 6 months to get LMO.After that I have to apply here in India along with all documents. I have to pay him 3000 CAD as advance and balance 15000 CAD that I have to pay him after getting visa.
Please anybady let me know, should will it be ok to me ? Is it a right way to get Canada Work Permit ? if any otherway please let me know.

Thanks.

First of all, LMO's only take about 6 weeks to process, the government of Canada has fast tracked the process for most work categories.

Next, there is no fee to the employer for the LMO, if the employer chooses to use a lawyer or immigration consultant to prepare their application that is their choice and their cost and it is illegal for them to try and pass those costs onto you but the government does not require it and it does in no way guarantee a better outcome.

Once you received a copy of the LMO and a valid job offer, which means it must meet the minimum salary requirements, and cover off who is responsible for your travel and medical insurance upon arrival in Canada, job duties, etc the you take this information (after you have verified the LMO is in fact valid as many companies are selling bogus LMO's) and fill out your application for a work permit and temporary visitor visa along with the fee of $150 and send it into either VFS global or directly to the Canadian Embassy in Delhi, and currently it is taking them about 15 business days to make their decision.

So, to answer your question it is ridiculous and most likely completely illegal that this organization is asking you for $18,000 to get a job in Canada. My advice would be to report them to the Canadian government as there are very stiff penalties for this type of illegal activity. Now, they are trying to hide their illegal activity by saying they are not charging for the job but charging for help preparing your application, but the reality is you do NOT need someone to help you with this, VFSglobal is contracted by the government of Canada to do this and their fees very low. Here is the website for VFS vfs-canada.co.in/wheretoapply.html and I would recommend you contact them for help and report this company instead.

Dear sir
I am in india from Bangalore. We apply for job in spring farm and sea foods company in montreal in canada . They asking money for LMO    670 dollar. Please help me .is this trul..is ok how to pay.

James

What is the name of the Seafood Company? How did you find out about the job, was it through an e-mail that was sent to you unsolicited?

If it is Primrose Seafood or if you received an unsolicited e-mail offering you any kind of job that you personally have not already applied for, don't send any money, it is a scam to defraud people of their money.

please help me LMO how much money have to pay.and where.

The website URL you give comes back to some Japanese website, I hardly think your job offer is legitimate. Looks like a scam to me. It certainly is not the URL of the real company.

The official site for Springs Farm and Seafoods is:

http://sfasfoods.com/

Click on the CONTACT tab, it has their phone number. It's worth phoning them to confirm if the job offer and information you have is a scam or genuine. Trust me, they'll be the ones who know for certain.

My recent LMO application took 10 weeks... It was of no cost to me, I had to pay for the Work Permit itself at the Immigration Office at the border when entering.

Hellokitty29

Dear SWEETSONU17,

What happened finally ?

Billions

Hello Sir,

Please you should engage for the Canadian immigration program. Do it yourself, forget about LMO. Maybe the Quebec immigration will be better

Hi
We are also in the process to go to Canada.
You must find somebody to give you a job.  Then they must do the LMO (it takes 2 weeks if you apply before 28 August 2013)  Otherwise it takes 3 months.  After you found a job and LMO is approved by Canada they will contact your country to supply yyou with the work permit and visa and also send you for medicals  This will take 3 months as well.
Go well

The medical checkup requirements probably depend on your country of origin:
Coming from the EU I needed none unless I wanted to work in heath care or with children.

James

Hello ALLENZ,

Spring Farms Seafoods is one of the many well known employment scams all over the world.

NOBODY, repeat NOBODY will send out random e-mails to recruit people for jobs. Nobody will ask you to pay them up front when they send you a job offer either..... just scammers do that. Real jobs anywhere are very hard to find, do you really think that one that literally falls out of the sky, like this one did, could possibly be real?

How can I process LMO here in Saudi Arabia if ever my employer give the LMO already?

James

If you have an LMO confirmation letter from a Canadian employer then you go through the regular steps with Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Visit their website and fill out the online information to see if you qualify for a visa.

Note: In some cases you DO NOT need a Labor Market Opinion in order to get a Work Permit.

Priscilla

@ sheemmm >  You should have a look at this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montreal;)

Do you have some questions regarding work permit?

Priscilla

Unlike Quebec City, there's a large anglophone base in Montreal. So it is not as bad and some companies do use both languages...
