As a retired Army NCO, if I was to live in Manilla or in the vacinity, is their any facilities for retirees? ie PX, commisary, medical etc? thanks

there is a VA clinic but it is outpatient you can get medications there

i think you would be better off in the Philippines, most every one can speak some English and everything is in English, i live in the province about 25k from Davao City, Davao is one of the best places for expats prices are lower than most other places, 5 large malls and more coming, lots of choice on housing, International Airport and sea port, and it is safe

There are a lot of retired military in Angeles City and Subic. Both easy driving distance to Manila and pretty cheap. Would recommend staying there for a short time before committing to something permanent. Will be able to pick up a lot of pointers from the guys there.
