Hey guys,

I have just moved to Malaysia and I've got a regular visit visa. I has an interview today at a big company and everything was going well until they told me that they won't be able to help me get a work permit!! And that I cannot work with no work permit!

So now i really need your help, please advise what should I do to get a work permit and be able to have a decent job.

Thanks alot.

Get the job offer letter once you succeed in the interview.

Bring the letter to Immigration Dept in Pusat Bandar Damansara in Kuala Lumpur.

I try to find more details from my friends or from the immigration dept itself. Saturday and Sunday is off day, can't do anything until Monday arrives.

i dont get it! companies can apply for work permits for people they want to employ. i dont think individuals can.

Fatma.hussein

Hey guys thank you for your replies.

So is it easy to get a work permit around here? I mean if I found a job!!

I have been told that most companies do not like to issue work permits for foreigners, is that true??

Do you recommend any companies that I can apply to??

farm

If a company really wanted to hire you why wouldn't they help you with the work permit? Doesn't make any sense at all.

I have no idea!

The company has to supply lots of paperwork and min salary for a work permit is 5,000 RM per month. You could offer tpo pay all fees for the work permit and us an agency but the company would have to cooperate.

But honestly what did you expect. Also a muppet company for interviewing you as why waste yours and their time if they don't know how to get a work permit!

Fatma.hussein

Well I have no problem paying for the work permit fees if the company agreed to cooperate. And you are right, the company did waste my time and theirs too.

Anyway my plan was to come to KL and see if its possible to have a career there. I will keep looking and hope for the best.
