so i have a job offer with adec as a teacher and i'm waiting on a security check. what does that entail? i'm from the usa.

Almost the same as security clearance you get from working for the US gov.

What security check? Some 'Police Clearance Certificate' may be needed in certain government jobs, no such thing for private employment. But ADEC being like a government entity, maybe they need the same thing. You can expedite it from your side too.
