Tipping in taxis

How much do YOU tip taxi drivers, especially for short trips?

I usually just round up to the next 5,000... am I crazy?

Round up that ways is fine. Vietnamese don't usually tip. Depending on scenario I tip as I would back home, based on service etc.

VND 5000?
it's normal.
You dont have to TIP them; however, If you feel particularly satisfied, you can give them a TIP around VND 10 000/service.
It's not much, but they will happy.

Hi,
Did the driver serve you well?. If he(she) drive carefully and serve you well, you could tip them. Just give them small money,like 1 dollars.
