Hello everyone, I have an offer of 2500BD for work as doctor in a hospital. No family status, so il have to arrange for accomodation on my own. Is the salary enough for a family on three. My child is 2 years old.

radio1

and yes, I intend to save !

Josnuggles

For a doctor who has studied for years and years and who saves lives I think you should demand more money and family status.

A lot of people are on much more money just sat in an office.

Thanks Professor and Jogsnuggles..
Workplace is Al-muharraq area.So which location would be best for accomodation and what would be the approx rent for a 2BHK. I hope the area is safe for work / stay & cushioned from the dangers of political unrest.

Josnuggles

You could get accommodation for around 300BD - not great but a roof over your head.

All areas in Bahrain have little areas within them that you should avoid. If you choose carefully you will be fine.

Choose an area with no vandalism, an area that looks clean and tidy, an area where the bins on the road aren't burnt and where there are no signs of road blocks. Boulders, trees etc.

These are the signs of areas of unrest and are usually in or very close to the villages.

Speak to your employer about accommodation and get some good recommendations before you sign anything.

@radio1 - You should be able to save adequately on this offer. the high out goings normally tend to be accommodation, and transportation (if taxis are used).

There's an article that was written by two very helpful members of the forum that you may want to go through. They've taken the time and effort to put together this helpful and informative article to help new comers. It will have most of the answers you're looking for.

Good Luck, :)

This is a very old post.  Perhaps it will better if you start a new thread.

To answer your question, I would recommend you taking a look at the ministry of Health and National Health Regulatory Authority websites for ideas. You can also directly get in touch with some of the leading private hospitals in Bahrain. Good luck, Doctor Sav.
