Hi - I live in RLP ... But quite a ways from Trier - we live in Erpel it is opposite Remagen on the Rhine...basically the last parish before hitting the NRW border. There used to be USAF bases closer to your area - in Bitburg and Spangdahlem?? They would perhaps be the more larger American communities closest to you.

I just left Baumholder last week and already miss it terribly. Great little community and very accepting of Americans and other expats.
