Transferring my motorbike license

Hi,

Heres hoping someone out there can end the confusion for me on this one.

I'm halfway through the process of transferring my license into a VN license - I have had it translated and went looking for the Office of Transportation @ 252 Ly Chinh Thang, Dist 3, but to no avail - it doesn't seem to be there.
Other websites suggest the address is 63 Ly Tu Trong but a friend told me that is an old address and they have moved.

Has anyone recently found the elusive office of transportation?

Also, my current license includes a motorbike class (from my home country) - will my VN license also be a motorbike license? Some websites are suggesting I will only get a car license in exchange, and will have to sit a test to get my motorbike license.

Any insight would be appreciated. Cheers!

Hi Spindr,

252 Ly Chinh Thang does indeed exists. If you enter LCT from the roundabout(CMT8/3-2/Vo Thi Sau), it's the alley on your left(about 80M); a large alley that you can drive a car in. At the end of the alley(50m), the office is on your left. Parking in right in front or across the street.

You will only be allowed to transfer the auto license over and it'll expire based on your Visa/Work Permit or expiration date of our license, which ever comes first. It is possible to transfer a motorbike license but I don't know how. I just know that it will only transfer to bikes under 179cc (A1).

Go to diadiem.com & plug in the address:  252, Lý Chính Thắng, P. 9, Q. 3

^^^^ What he said :)

And yes they will transfer your bike licence across, but only the A1 part of it.
