Seems the powers that be are very keen on making life difficult. The one that gets me is when you get married here you still have to go every three months and pay them for the privilege.

Can I have more detail for the TRC , actually I got mind follow on my husband Working visa , but can't apply on my phllipinp helper , I really want to get her a visa which not only 3 months . Thanks a lot

We are going the investor route.  Putting money in a company.  We already own the land.  A lot easier than the worker visa route.  My partner is a dual citizen and can create the company, and we put in money (and make it back, too)

I am using my TRC without a WP since 2012 and traveled Cambodia and just returned from India after 1 week family visit. I have no problem with it.

You can cancel a WP and still keep the TRC, just because the WP is cancelled it doesnt mean the TRC becomes null and void.

Not unless you have a representaive office here or a work permit with another company. Operating a business here is difficult, laden with paperwork and corruption, if you dont have a VN partner its a very difficult task. Save your money and save on stress as they are very difficult to do business with.A common saying I found here whilst doing business..."you dont know, this is Viet Nam,its different.

Chris try going through the posts on this thread. There are 95 replies, however most are just opinions but there are a few with the requirements for a WP.
