Back when I lived in the US, there was this very cheap franchise retail store called 'Dollar Store'. Literally everything a dollar. I was able to get all basic essentials there. Does something like this exist in Budapest?

If so, where?

Also, do Hungarians feel the influx of china imports the way Americans consumers did?

It's historically called the "szaz forintos bolt", 100 HUF store, but inflation makes the name increasingly inaccurate :-)

Actually it exists. It's called EuroStore, and you can buy many things, from food to drinks and cosmetics for the equivalent in Forints of 1Euro. Check this link from Google Maps. I have 2 of them near my house, district XI. Hope this helps.

Skala - asian clothing and junk, at Blaha Lujza ter, Kobanya also station, and others)
