Hi all.
I am Anton, an Australlian. I am travelling between Budapest and Sydney.
I have a new apartment and need to fit it out.
So far I have done the Ikea thing and it is ok.
As I type I am in Sydnet but going back in a few weeks.
Any ideas where a Hardware store is near the Oktogon ? Also need an electronic store to buy a new TV.
Wish I could get a list of shops around the oktogon

Cheers and glad I joined

Anton

Bigger hardware stores locations:

Don't know which one is easiest to reach from Oktogon, depends what you want to drag around town and if you have a car or not I guess.

For a TV, just go to Mediamarkt in Westend?
Or check on arukereso.hu (price-comparing website) where the TV you want is the cheapest, then have it delivered.

Hi Anton. Weather still uncomfortably hot here, dyatime temps in the high 20s, and nights around 17-18. Best bet for good value electronics is at Media Markt in the West End shopping Center at Nyugati. Re hardware store, I seem to recall one on Podmanizcky u. just off of the korut, but not sure if it is still there. Check the net for locations of local OBI stores; I know there is one at the end of the blue metro line, so that may be your best bet. Good luck and stay in touch when you get back.

Dear Teach
Yea, I have been to media market at Westend but there is a comment on this blog that they are expensive and limited in range etc. The guy was really negative, but my impression without buying anything was they seemed like a typical big electronics store. The other place mentioned was Conrads which is at The Oktagon which is where I live so maybe I can save on delivery that way. Thanks or help
