That would really depend if you are looking to buy or rent. Then it would also depend on your budget.

I could recommend Corozal, you need to book a Hotel, then spend some time looking around for the apartment you want.

I hope other people will chime in here, that know some other good locations, that fit your budget. If you decide on Corozal just PM me I'll put you in touch with a good hotel.

Thank you very much!

Is this the place for me?  I have 3 s/m dogs and a desire for cooler weather--not too arid--I am from hot, humid Houston--retired--and would be moving alone??? I am adaptable.  All replies appreciated.

Belize is hot and humid.  similar to Houston.  Aruba sounds like more of what you might prefer.  we lived there for a year and it is rarely humid, & rarely hot.  Always a breeze, regardless of where you are on the island.

Corozal is NOT like Aruba.  If you wish to visit Belize, try  one of the cayes.  If you spend several weeks in Corozal, inland, you will be able to judge for yourself.   In any case, I would suggest that you not bring your dogs when you come for a visit.

I agree, I would not bring dogs for a visit. I love inland, live in Cayo, and have been many places in Belize. I choose inland because you can be on the beach in 2 hours, and there are no hurricanes!  I SUGGEST visiting different areas, and see what feels right to you.  PLEASE contact me if I can be of help.
