Just moved to Dubai and haven't met anyone who is British yet. Been here 5 days and it's an eye opener. Things are done very differently. Been living off non-alcoholic beer so far. At least it's something. The wife wont be joining me for another 3 months, so unless I get off my backside, I'll be entertaining myself for awhile. Anyone live aroud the airport area in Dubai? Would love to have a quick coffee or preferably something stronger.

There are 100,000 Brits here so you'll start to meet some pretty soon I would think! Try one of the pubs, like the Red Lion at Dubai Metropolitan or the Irish Village at the Aviation Club for example.
