Hi
Is it possible to get utilities connected and in my name from this end ?? So that it is up and running by the time I arrive at the end of Oct. ?
I won't have time to muck about when I have to return a hire van to the UK. I'm a bit concerned that if I have to wait 8 weeks for water and electricity (as another forum topic suggested) I may be in a bit of a difficult situation !

Advice appreciated.
Thanks

so the house has no utilities currently connected ? Surely thats the landlords responsibility ?

Yeah, I would have thought the landlord would already have those things in place ready to go?

We applied for electric and water in May.
Electric was connected in August.
Our own plumber has to hook up the washing machine and go to the main office in Depiro Point as all the connections for water of the block of apartments are in the garage.
And we had to source or own tank on the roof.
In case something goes wrong.

whya are you sourcing these things when your are renting? why when the landlords knows you are renting from him/her hasnt he got these things in place.

Hi toon,

I think he means source in the sense of check out which water tank on the roof belongs to which appartment !

Sometimes the floater/swimmer valve gets stuck and your water tank runs empty. If you know which tank is yours it's a quick fix of just making the valve work by moving it a up and down a bit.

You know that is the case if you have no water except in the kitchen ! The kitchen is normally the only tap connected direct to the water main.
