I am a naturalized U.S. Citizen and was born in Pakistan. Am 61 yrs old and currently working in the U.S. I wish to migrate to Ecuador with my 4 yrs old child that was born to a woman in Pakistan  and my child's mother. Can anyone please tell me who I can have them immigrate to Ecuador  without  going through the U.S. Thank-You.

That answer might be answered best by contacting an Ecuadorian consulate nearest you or calling an Ecuadorian Immigration lawyer. Most of us, unfortunately, or not versed that deeply in the law. But, you might be in luck. Whenever I post a message on the forum like this, someone invariably someone comes along with the answer. Just think of it and my assuring you good luck.

First of all Sir, I would like to congratulate you on being 61 years of age, and the Father of a 4 year old.
As Joseph stated, I will also say I am not an attorney. You need one. There are many good ones here in Ecuador, and if you do some searches on the various blogs, you'll see the same ones recommended from one site to the next.
The Immigration Laws here are very fluid, and seem to change at the drop of a hat, and... they vary depending on which city you go to, be it Quito or Cuenca. A good attorney will know all the in's and out's of the city they do business in. It is well worth the money to at least get their advice.
Many will say you can accomplish this task with out an attorney, but I think your case is a little different then most expats that have pretty straight forward situations.
Best of Luck in your Journey!!!
Neil

Thanx Joseph for your encouragement .

Thank-You Neil. You mentioned that there are good attorneys that are mentioned "over and over" in different blogs. Could you possibly know some that you could let's know please. Also on a related line of thought, my primary reason to think about Ecuador is for my young daughter. Currently as you may know living in Pakistan seems like a nightmare  and I like to see my daughter grow in an environment where she can feel relatively secure and be happy .i understand that situation can change any time at any place, but by my calculated risk taking it appears she will be much better of in Ecuador.

Oh my, if I were a child - well, some think I am - I would want to live in Ecuador. The family focus here is THE focus, and children are numerous and greatly loved. I always smile when I see young children walking hand-in-hand, sometimes four at a time. Or a very young child holding the hand of an even smaller child guiding and protecting him/her. Education here is excellent, and comradery among children is exceptional. I doubt if you could do better for your child.

While I hesitate to give recommendations, I can tell you that I dealt with a husband and wife team here in Cuenca that were very effective for me. I can only relate my own experience, but it was very effortless on my part. Grace Velastequi is the wives name, and the one more recognizable, but her husband Nelson is very efficient and skilled also. They handled my property purchase, and also my visa and cedula processes.
I am in no way affiliated with them, nor do I get any financial payment from them for recommendations. Unlike most recommending someone on these forums... you don't have to say I sent you.
< grin>
Please do some research and contact a number of attorney's and you'll certainly find a good match for you.
And what Joseph said is the utter truth. I delight everyday when I see the youngsters here, and how they are idolized. The same holds true for the aged, they are revered. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better environment to raise your precious daughter.
Warm Regards,
Neil

Joseph that's what I gather from my information about Ecuador  basically  what you mentioned in essence. So, here I am living and working in the U.S. but not liking most U.S polices and then there is Pakistan  where I can go back and live but the situation there is total chaos . But then there is Ecuador that I am starting to like from its government polices to organic food to its serene people. Actually it all seems like what I would want in a country is all there!
I would like to know where would be a quite area to live, but not too far from international airport with direct flights to U.S and Europe , then I would like to know about  few good attorneys I can contact in that area, Once I have this information the. I can even come for a visit and move forward.

What last name does your son have, yours or his moms?
Is that the name on his Pakistani birth certificate?
Lastly have you gotten his passport yet? If not, it must be exactly as his birth certificate reads.

Most importantly, do you have legal and provable parental responsibility.

Answer these questions we'll see what steps maybe optional for your son.
On the surface seemingly difficult. Lets see if there are holes in the profile.

Regarding you, if you are an American citizen with a USA passport, no way around the state department being involved.

Remember every single document asked for by Ecuador must carry Paki and eiterh your home state or federal notarization and accompanying Apostille form.

Last name of the child is same as mine, which is on the birth certificate and shows me as father. I have not applied for the Pakistani Passport for the child  yet , but the info will be the same as the birth certificate . So this information makes me responsible as a parent. As for me, I will be applying as an American for myself from within the U.S. But , I have to apply my child and the mother of the child as Pakistani Citizen, who are in Pakistan. Hope my situation is more clear now. Thanx

In response to your questions, I'm certainly not the best suited to answer most of them you posed. My time has primarily been in the city of Cuenca. I absolutely love it, it offers me what I want.
I had some rather negative thoughts regarding GYE., but had only really seen the area around the airport. I just got back from a short visit there, and got to spend some time down on the Malacon, and loved it.
I think your best bet is to scour the blogs, and plan on spending a fair amount of time in each of the cities that you find to be of interest. Some you may not have to spend too much time in because you flat out don't like them. I'd say.... start in Cuenca, and move your way up. You may not ever leave Cuenca.

Good Luck
Neil
