You just had a FREE lesson in English. Lesson wasted :(
When it is FREE, it is seldom appreciated.
(Free Lesson 2?)
You need a QUESTION, before you can give an ANSWER.

I get free sushi all the time

Nothing comes without some type of price being paid. You even have to pay attention to free advice!

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.....Janis Joplin

Tran Hung Dao

This is a really weird discussion but let's get into philosophy shall we?

The concept of "nothing is free" seems to cause us to want to come up with counter-arguments.

The air is free,
The water is free,
The Internet is free

English lessons are free...

But it is a valid thought.  Comes from economics - you've heard the term "There's no such thing as a free lunch?"  I'll save you the long read - if you want to, just google it.

In short...it "indicates an acknowledgement that in reality a person or a society cannot get "something for nothing". Even if something appears to be free, there is always a cost to the person or to society as a whole, although that cost may be hidden or distributed."

khanh44

Your mom told you that because she thinks everyone is out to scam her. There are some nice people left in this world that do volunteer work out of the kindness of their heart.

Keep a positive mind but don't be so naive into saying yes to everything and you'll find your happiness.

lylyly

that is truth, nothing is free, and it is right for anyway

khanh44

Yen, can I ask you what your definition of free is?

thaonguyen1990

Everything is possible. If you do something by your heart without response, why doesn't anyone do that with you ? you want to be received, you should give before.
I think that everything has its value, but no anything has price. Open your heart, Keep a positive mind, always smile, you'll be more happy.

ancientpathos

My life experiences tell me that no good deed goes unpunished. That means there is a price to pay for giving.  Does it mean I stop?  No I just understand there is a price.

"Nothing is free". Oh, I don't think so. I'm using wifi free! Lol.

Cheer!

charmavietnam

Em oi!
From where do you get free wifi?
If it's from coffee shop, you should pay for your drink :D
If you using from other sources, also cannot say 'free', because it's considered as 'stealing':D
Yeah, in that way we get free!

Fresh is best, but even better when its free.
But then again, I gotta 'spend' time eating it so it's not really free. But oh well, nothing is free!
