Hi Neža,

Welcome to Expat.com!

Before plan your trip to Indonesia, i’d like to suggest you to read this link https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=293005, it's very useful information.

Info about lifestyle, jobs, living, things to do, etc. you can get it from here https://www.expat.com/en/guide/asia/indonesia/ OR http://whatsnewjakarta.com/ OR http://www.jakarta100bars.com for Jakarta's Best Bars, Clubs & Restaurants and jakartalounge.com/cheap-apartments-in-jakarta-for-rent-stay-comfortably-2.html for cheap apartments.

For jobs in Indonesia, you should know that our government has very strict rules about foreigners working here. To legally work in Indonesia, you must have a work permit called KITAS. To get a KITAS you must find an Indonesian company to hire and sponsor you with cost about $2,000 USD. That’s alot of money and one of the reason why Indonesian company prefer to hire a local rather than a foreigner. A foreigner get caught working here without KITAS will go to jail for five years and can be fined as much as $50,000 USD.
Fyi, Indonesia has a lot of highly skilled and educated people, so frankly speaking, it will be very hard for you to find legal work if you are a high school graduates only, unless you have a special skill/qualification that Indonesian don’t have. Here’s another link you might want to read for more input https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=292722

Good luck and Enjoy Indonesia when you are here!
