Are there any streaming U.S. T.V program providers available in Vietnam?
I tried Hulu and Netflex but both said that they are not licensed.
I've been using projectfreetv.com, sometime's it takes a while to buffer and you have to close a few pop ups but it gets me my fix of TV I miss from home!
Alexsara.
How does that link work? I went to it and it listed a bunch of ads. Do I need to subscribe to one of those services to get the programs? If so do they all work in VN? Thanks for the info. Now if I can just figure out how to use it. I don't mind paying for a service, but I would want it to work in VN.
Like solo1 said hulu and netflix does not work in VN
Aah sorry, typo! It's http://projectfree.tv/ - it gives you the option to click TV shows / Movies / Forum. If you select TV Shows it shows you the programs by the date they're aired, and also the option to view all TV shows listed alphabetically. You just find the program you want, then select the series/episode and you're good to go
It's free too..
If you know how to download torrent files, you can get TV shows from US and UK here: http://eztv.it/
These are all good quality (HD) with the commercials edited out. I've been using this method to watch American TV shows in Asia for more than 8 years.
To download torrent files, you need a torrent download client installed on your computer.
To watch the file after you've downloaded, it's best to have a video player that will play all types of files. Apple's Quicktime player will play some, but not all. Windows media usually only plays the audio but not the video. So you need a third-party player such as VLC (Videolan). The latest version of VLC player will play 99-100% of all video files downloaded.
I use Windows computers, and have a friend who's exclusively Apple. We both use these programs with no problems.
Google all this for more info.
I'm having trouble downloading. When it's finished I press play and then it goes to different membership services. Plus I have a Mac and once it said it wasn't compatible. I don't have time now but will be interested in other comments.

If you're on a site that offers files to download, make sure you're clicking on the actual link to the file, rather than some big shiny button that says "DOWNLOAD NOW". All that is spam. If you're new to this game, it takes a while to learn how to navigate through all the B.S. on many of those download sites. That's why I recommend EZTV. It doesn't have that, and no membership or passwords are required.

The Pirate Bay is the longest running torrent site and also the safest.

UTorrent is a very easy way to download the torrents

Don is right, but even on thepiratebay, you get those big shiny green buttons that say, "DOWNLOAD" and "PLAY NOW". IGNORE that B.S.! It's nothing but spam. Scroll down the page and find the link that says, "Get This Torrent". Click on that and a box will open asking if you want to allow this website to open a program on your computer (your torrent client, that you should already have installed on your computer). Click "Allow", and another box opens with the actual file. You can select "Download Now" or "Download Later". Either way, the torrent is loaded into your client, and you can open the client interface and manage it from there.

What ever you do don't download the torrent client suggested on the PB home page. It will down load a bunch of malware that will take hours to get rid of. The hardest one to delete was QVO6 search that hijacked my google home page. For sure use the one that saigonmonkee suggested.
Thanks folks. I knew you would have the answers. Next question I'm an Apple person. If I buy Apple TV can I watch these programs on one of the newer computer that interface with my computer?
Oops spoke to soon. I downloaded a file (2 1/2 men) and when I tried to open it on my Mac it said it was a Windows file and would not play on lion. Workaround?

Same same me you! I did watch Justified for awhile but it was streaming (slow to watch) but not downloaded. I'm going to try again later.

I believe niceplayer and perian will play almost any media file on a mac
Okie Don.... Help the elderly! I got the latest version of NicePlayer downloaded. Now how do I get the piratebay file downloaded to MicePlayer?

Your not the only one. I got Don on the line and he is trying to walk me through it. This is interesting stuff. But the high tech age kind of passed me by. So when people start talking viruses and malware I get wheezy and get help. I got the NicePlayer software DL so far. But can't get2 1/2 men to play on it. NP supports Apple by the way.

Computer programmers do this shit on purpose I truly believe. They always say it is so easy except only they know what to do when "this happens" or "that happens". Why don't they just plain make it work?????
Yeah Solo like the auto engineers that put a bolt in a place no one can get a wrench on. I agree, I'm not adroit enough or have enough patience to to make these things work so easy. I just got done recovering 15,000 photos I accidently deleted. Shows you how computer smart I am. Blame AlexSara she started this. Just kidding Alexsara

As she should!!
Solo1,
Yes, now we are in agreement. But seriously I' m learning some good stuff here. If I can just get it in to this jurassic brain of mine. We use to just chisel this stuff in stone and everyone could read it.
Thanks to all. Indeed, there is plenty of streaming available. Even the moran finally figured it out with the help of all you guys and gals. We must blame Alexsara. Lot of new stuff for me to learn. But I was able to download "Torrents" and all kinds of stuff. You know for a guy who is still amazed at how they get all those 45's loaded on my iPhone this is a great achievement. I'm still amazed on my Iphone when I want to take a song back to the start that that little slider bar does not scratch the 45.
I use to hate it as a kid when I did that.
But thanks to all for your wonderful help, and especially to VTD, always such a kind and helpful person.

Happy for you really really happy for you!!! Some of us just plain given up!! If I was a drinker I'd be drunk
Solo1
Thats how I figure it out.....got plastered and started pushing buttons and one brought up a movie. Now I can't get the movie out of the VCR and to think I thought that thing was a computer. Just pulling your leg. I'm not a drinker either.
