vitamins/medicines checked upon arrival in Paraguay?

What was your experience with this in the airport once you arrived?
Did they trash all bottles that had their cap seal broken?
Did they require prescriptions for medicines you were bringing in?
thanks!

thanks gorgeous!

My parents who brought half a drug store with them never had a problem coming from the US to Asuncion to visit us.

thanks for the reply Lonnie.
There is a possibility of favoritism towards the local latinos when they come back from the States. Lonnie if your parents are such then I don't know that I fall into the same safe zone that they do.

It should also be noted that many items that would require a prescription back home, can be acquired down here without one.

Perhaps to find the generic name for each drug, and see if it can be found down here. Paraguay has a couple large pharma outfits here, including one that produces generics... thus you can probably see a nice shaving of the costs after the fact.

I don't know about favoritism considering My dad doesn't speak Spanish and my mom has a heavy accent when she speaks it LOL - I think because of their age maybe they went easy on them.
