Hi everyone,

I have some transcription and translation needs:

1.  Listen to audio-tape.

2 (option).  Type what you hear in Vietnamese, and/or

3 (option).  Translate into English (line by line), and/or

4 (option).  Only an English summary of key points.

Tape is 40 minutes long.  Potential for follow-up work if you do good job.  Please send me quick summary of your proposal, including:

1.  Your credentials / experience

2.  How fast can you do it (I don't need it too soon, but timeliness is good)

3.  How your pricing fee will work:  by length of tape, by time spent, and/or by options above

(to clarify: point 2, 3, and 4 are optional - for example, I'm willing to just do option 4 - a summary.  Or do all 2, 3, and 4 if pricing works out).

You should probably move this post to the classified before a moderator chimes in.  To do that, just post a new post in the classified section, then just edit this one by deleting everything and replacing it with just a dot . . . . .

I would recommend you find a college student to help you do 1, 2, and 3.  Then hire me (I would say "someone who is a native speaker" but I'll just volunteer myself here) to do quality control for you.  I'll check their work and do 3 and 4.

College students are pretty computer savvy and they are good with the Vietnamese language.  Since they also study English, they can translate for you.  However, they are weak in practical usage of it (since they have little opportunity to practice it). Just needs someone who's a native speaker to polish it up.

Just like I need a local to polish my Vietnamese translations.  I'm interested in this gig since it'll help me learn Vietnamese, but my listening language skills isn't high enough to respond to your advertisement saying I can do 1 and 2.

You're right!  My fee is 1 can of baby formula per tape deliverable to an orphanage in Đồng Nai.  The fee for translating is up to the college student.
