Moving belongings to Quang Ngai, any advice

Post new topic

ancientpathos

Greetings,
Trying to decide about moving belongings or selling and buying new.  I need to transport motorbike and some boxes of clothes and household items.  Can I do this by train from HCMC to Quang Ngai?  Any suggestions?

I've always found it best to travel light. Used items aren't worth much to sell or to pay for transporting. Give to those in need. Except for the bike of course and anything else of real value. Buy only the basics once you get there to make sure you like it.

I have heard that you can ship a motorbike via the train.  They have cargo/freight trains that runs along the "Iron Road" as well as passenger service.

You could also fetch a train ride back to HCMC and drive your motorbike up to Quảng Ngãi.  Conversely, you can hire someone to drive your motorbike and essentials up to Quảng Ngãi, and buy them a train ticket back to HCMC.

The train is the best answer.  No baggage allowance.  This is the best plan.  Thanks...

When you take the bike to the train station you will have to drain the tank of fuel, so make sure you just have a small amount of fuel in it.

I think you should pay luggage fee if more than a certain amount of weight!

I was told that you  an take your motorbike on a bus. Does anyone know if this is true? Ancient, is this a permanent move for you? Does that mean Dalat is out?

It is true.  They remove the front tire and can load it in the cargo hold underneath the tour bus.  I've seen people unload them many times.
