Hello everyone,
I am Judy and i just became a Christian.
I really want to know about God more than what i learn from books.
Anyone here who love God can share with me your experiences with God? I am really want to listen you.
Anyway,
Please tell me what should i do to become a good Christian?
How can i make God glad? How to worship God everyday?
Thanks for your advice.
Best,
Judy.

-To become a good Christian you should be a good human being with 'humanity'!
-Do good things - do not hurt yourself and others, so God will be happy!
-Same as above, do good things, do not become a parasite, work hard to earn for living, help weak people, etc we can consider as God worship!

Should I have to love and treat good with everyone? Even some of them didn't treat me good?

charmavietnam

Of course !:D
Even you should suffer for others, like Jesus Christ!
The way to God is full of pain and thorn. Once you get in, you will enjoy that life!

Hi,
It would be helpful if you join in the union at the nearest church, where offers religious lessons and its schedule to practice the ritual to sacrifice your lord together with many other people.:)
It's good to study and follow all the official formality, however, it's most important to do all things whole-heatedly and be disciplined, in my opinion, regardless of religions.
And remember "from good, must come good and from evil, evil" :D

Actually I am very shy when i come to the Church alone...
Only me the newbie...I don't know much about God and the story of God...I even didn't read all bible...
Hic...I am trying everyday...praying everyday...God will blessing me...Amen

God help those who help themselves.
Whatever you are doing to help yourself is ok.
I am not too sure that you have to suffer to SHOW anything.
Check if your god has hearing problems. You may have to pray louder for him to hear you.
After helping yourself, if you have spare time, help others.
I am willing to be helped :)

Saught my soul and could not see
Saught my god and he eluded me
Saught my brother and found all 3

All my experiences praying to god, believing in a loving god have ended in disappointment.

I wouldn't be afraid of going to church. I always think I will feel like an outsider because I don't look Vietnamese and I don't speak Vietnamese, but I never feel out of place going to church. I am not currently in VN, but if you want someone to go with you, I can ask my father-in-law, and he can find a group of people your age to go with. He is very active in the Church.

I am very shy when i come to the Church because i don't know much about God...They sing, they dance, they cry, they know each other...i feel very lonely...I only enjoy the time when i hear the pastor speech and when i read book at home. I want to confess that I am not enjoy the songs so much even i know they are the part of worship :(. Huhu...Please forgive me...

I presume he feels the same as I do about god and organized religion.  You need to do what makes you feel good about life.  Some people find all they need in life from developing a belief system in god and having the support system of a church.  Find people that have what you are looking for and join them.  Just remember that some may not have the same belief system you are looking for.  They may mock you.  Just follow your heart....

Yes, I dont believe in religion, but thats my choice and others choose to believe, thats fine. What irks me about religion is the amount of money these organisations make every year without being taxed and the fact that some religions are a lifestyle, not a belief. Islam to me is a lifestyle, not a belief that can't be walked away from.Good luck to Judy in finding what she wants in life, we are all seeking different lifestyles.

I am a part-time musician and also play music for many Church activities (masses, weddings, retreats, etc.). Most of the time the music is not the same kind of music that I would normally listen to. I don't like a lot of the newer music, but I play it anyways. The most important thing about the mass (or "service" if you go to a protestant church) is the focus on God, not necessarily all of the extra things such as music.

Dear Judy : this is not the ideal place to seek help especially religious issues (most sensitive) as it is a PUBLIC forum. All kinds of people have access here and you should know by now, Christians are a minority in the world. The majority out there may not share your belief and faith. Surely, you can talk to someone in the church and ask for help there or talk to the pastor. Make friends from that family sharing the same faith! Here, people who have yet to see the 'light' or 'truth' will not be able to understand your plight. Blessings

Speaking of seeing the light...in Genisis it says God created light and called it day. Then further on in Genisis he again created LIGHT and called it night. I wonder if the creator of this light ever realized the moon does not shine nor create any light?
Many many anomalies in the good book if one really reads it. For Example Christ was to have celebrated the "Passover meal" just before he was executed on the cross. Yet his best friend came to claim is dead body from the cross on the "day of preparation" of passover (which is the day before the Passover meal in the Jewish religion). One could list many more. But if the offering plate fills up who cares about what the good book really says!!!

If someone's goal in life is to find peace, love, and happiness and they find it through religion, who is another to try and convince this person that their life-fulfilling accomplishment is not a lifestyle that they should pursue?

Guest2023

Jakejas, I could not agree with you more. Did you feel as if someone is trying to convince you of something? One can attend church and they certainly try and convince you, I agree too. But facts will always remain facts. Once someone has the facts they should need no convincing.

jakejas

There will always be people on both sides of the religious aisle who will try to convince the other side to see it their way. Facts are facts, but some times people's desire to justify their preferred outcome let them make conclusions based on facts that should not justify their conclusions.

As for me, I support anyone's journey along their path to long-term happiness as long as their actions do not negatively interfere with the rights of others. I don't care to actively convince others that I am right or they are wrong. I have found Love, happiness, and fulfillment in my life. If someone wants to talk about my believes I will be more than happy to satisfy their curiosity, but my happiness is not dependent upon others believing as I believe.

I like the quote "Preach the gospel at all times and when necessary use words" - St. Francis. I think it applies regardless of if your gospel is the Gospel of Christ, or any other personal doctrine used to live your life.

jakejas

The more I have studied, the more I have come to realize that the more we learn about life, the more we are made aware of how much there is that we don't know.

Physicists used to believe that Force=Mass*Acceleration was always true and that there was always a constant unit of time.

Guest2023

Jakejas, Isn't that the truth. At times it makes me feel awfully stupid. What I've learned, relative to what I don't know would fit on the point of a needle. Yet is still a great journey.

Hi everyone,

there are two things that we don't really like discussing about on Expat.com : religion and politics.

We are not qualified for discussing about religion and politics here, and we clearly don't want to become qualified for these two personal matters.

So please avoid religion and politics on expat.com

-I now close this thread -

Thanks in advance for your comprehension,

Julien
