S pass Quota run out

Hi,

I've been offered by a company and I've given in my S pass application and all necessary documents as well as a copy of my signed offer letter. This was about a month ago. However, when I spoke with my Hiring Manager today he told me that the company has run out of the S pass quota and that the HR is trying to talk with MoM on this. What are the chances that this might work out? Also this is a well known organization. Does that play a huge role in this?
He also did say that they will try to balance the Local and Foreign Talent intake to sort this out. Does this mean that they most likely wont be applying until they bring about the balance?

Any responses are highly appreciated.
Thank you.

The company cannot hire any foreigner above their quota.
Thus if they apply for your S-Pass now, it will be rejected.
So they need to one of the following:
- Convince MoM to increase their quota (unlikely).
- Fire another foreigner to hire you (unlikely).
- Offer you a better job (and higher salary) that qualifies for an EP (provided you qualify for it).
- Hire more locals before they can hire you.
From your post, it seems they chose the last option. It may take some time.
