Where can I buy the map? I bought one from a street merchant and it shows it on the map but not highway and street names.

Years ago I used to go down there quite often, back then there was no bridges and one had to cross small rivers and streams about 3-4 times in horribly tiny boats!

Anyway, nowadays for the most part, bridges are in place and the road has been paved.

Depending from where you start, you can take different routes. If you’re in Q.1, drive via the Khanh Hoi bridge into Q.4 and stay on Nguyen Tat Thanh until you cross over into Q.7. Then stay on Huynh Tan Phat right until the end where you’ll find the Binh Khanh ferry terminal (Pha Binh Khanh). Then you’re on the Rung Sac road which takes you all the way down to the sea. On the way there, if you have to ask anyone for directions, ask for “Duyen Hai” and not for Can Gio or Rung Sat.

It’s a nice ride and as soon as you have crossed the river with the ferry, you’re in a total different world.

If you head down there to the sea and beach, leave your swimming pants at home, I doubt anyone would want to volunteer for a swim in that “water”.

MAPS: I used to buy my maps in book shops (nhà sách).
