Hello,

Can we use chip based ATM card as a credit card for online transactions like we normally do with credit cards, if not then what is the purpose of that Visa electron logo on those ATM cards, is there any alternative, I can choose for credit card.

No you can't, if you need to you must visit your bank and they will open it for you to use it over Internet, but be careful if you got hacked you will loose all cash oneshot.

Alternatively some banks issuing debit cards, normal visa and mastercard but you must deposit money then purchase over Internet, if this card got hacked you will not loose more than deposited amount, if it is not used then keep it empty of cash.

Visa electron is just a debit card, not a credit card. Not possible to use it for online purchases, can be used for cash withdrawals (worldwide), and for point-of-sale purchases, i.e., in shops, worldwide.

As for online, you need to go to your bank and get a credit card, Visa or MasterCard, you can choose. This credit card can be used for online purchases, plus for in store purchases worldwide. It can also be used for cash withdrawals, but with a fee, which in my bank is 3%.
