So I read a blog that said there are planned electricity cuts during the times when alot of energy is used like the heat of summer and sometimes they may last a couple days.

how often does that happen?
Is this announced ahead of time and if so, where?
Does this include businesses too?
Can you at least go to an air conditioned business to get relief?
How far apart are the sections that are out of electric?
for example, can you just drive over to an area that has businesses with a/c?

Do you just let everything in your refridgerator spoil or are there generators that people use?
how much do they typically cost?

Power cuts are unpredictable in many ways
- you don't know when they happen
- you never know how long they will last
- you don't know how often they happen
- You don't know where the cuts are or not

People who want to live in Libya have to accept a hard truth straight away, Libya is UNPREDICTABLE in many many areas of daily life, you can never plan too long ahead because everything that doesn't come from you is unreliable. So you simply learn to live a different way or else you go mad believe me.

During the winter i've seen 6 power cuts in one day.... i was trying to do some work on the computer it was just impossible.
Power cuts are for everyone, even businesses so all you can do is be patient. Some people have generators in their house and many shops do too. At home what we do is simply to avoid opening the fridge/freezer too many times and pray the power come back soon.
