Relocating to Dubai

Post new topic

I'm a Singaporean Chinese and my husband is an expat here.  He has received an offer to work in Dubai and we are considering relocating.  However, my beef is that i am actually due to start a Degree in English Language in July this year and am hoping to find a school in Dubai that offers a similar course for expats.  Does anyone know of a good university?

No worries on that, you might have a wide variety of schools in Knowledge village dubai who can offer the studies...Anyways I think thts a big thing....Its all over in dubai...

Education is a business in Dubai...Welcome to the real world

Thanks for your reply.  I had a look at their website but couldn't find a Degree in English Language.  Have anyway emailed them to ask, hope to get good news :-)

Seems like Dubai Knowledge Village is more geared towards Human Resources and its support organizations... a Degree in English is not exactly popular i guess :-(

Still you have institutes like zabeel institute who can offer this course, else there are lot of education centres even british council who is conduction courses here

Thanks a lot, will check them out.  You have a great weekend!

I'm a little confuse what you mean by a degree in English, in Australia the English qualifications that readily come to mind for me are:

- A degree in Teaching English
- A degree in Arts with an English Literature Major

Can you explain in more detail what sort of course your looking for?

The Degree I was planning to do In Singapore is a Bachelor of Arts English with Psychology (it covers subjects like Literature, Poetry etc., minoring in some Psychology subjects).  It's not specifically for Teaching English but i can teach if i want. Other jobs i can do afterwards with the degree are journalist, editor etc.

The above list contains a lot of universities in Dubai and mentions what sort of undergraduate courses they offer.
